The Story Of Linda Moore

Meet Linda Ellen Moore, a Michigan native who moved to Colorado hoping to find a husband, and found a lifelong calling instead. An only child turned beloved teacher, Linda spent three decades in the classroom guiding teens through home economics and U.S. history, breaking up fights with fearless humor, and building floats, budgets, and confidence. She shares the grit behind those years, from a horse wandering into the cafeteria to the quiet victories of listening when a student needed a mom.
Raised by a mother who befriended the overlooked, Linda carries forward a simple creed: kindness counts. She traces roots from Nebraska farm families and German Steinbauer ancestors to Scottish Skene lines near Aberdeen, and remembers the grandmother she never met through a letter mailed the day she died. Before teaching, she was a pint‑size roller‑skating champion who won at Nationals in Washington, D.C. Later came a whirlwind 1990s trip through Europe, living in Brussels, puzzling over “Ausfahrt” signs in Germany, taking in Paris from the Eiffel Tower, visiting the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, and witnessing Brussels’ Flower Carpet and the fields of Waterloo.
